Lake Placid is a calm lake at the base of the gorge where tours finish.
After navigating the Grade 2 and 3 rapids, your raft floats into this quiet recreation area. It serves as both the meeting point and the finish line. Since your car is parked here, you can access your dry clothes immediately after the up to 2-hour raft.
What fees do you pay when you arrive?
You must pay a mandatory river levy of $20 to $30 AUD per person.
This Environmental Management Charge is payable on the day of your tour. Bring money or a card with you to the meeting point at Lake Placid or on the shuttle bus. Do not take this payment on the raft, as valuables get lost in the river.
